Into The Woods
Into The Woods was one of my first experiments into negative painting. This piece speaks loudly to the intrinsic link between animals and their habitats - this bear is watching over the land, a guardian to the forest, but without the forest, he doesn't exist.
This piece has had one of the most viral receptions online, on multiple platforms, which was surprising for me because it was one of the few personal pieces I almost gave up on (halfway through I almost tore it up and threw it away). It remains one of my favourite pieces today because of it's simplicity in storytelling.
Into The Woods was created using watercolour and ink.
